Modified Concept of intergrated Sex Therapy
Kang Dong-Woo

Abstract
Researches have documented the high rate of sexual dysfunction among men and women and have emphasized the adverse effects of sexual dysfunctions on interpersonal relation and quality of life. Sexual dysfunction is a multi-causal and multi-dimensional disorder combining biological, psychological and interpersonal determinants. The psychosocial factors and possibility of the other diagnoses should be repeatedly considered from the initial interview to the end of treatment. Psychosocial factors of sexual dysfunction include performance anxiety, other anxiety and phobias, masculinity and feminity, sexual discrepancy, sexual inhibition, intrapsychic conflict, and mental illness. These factors can be overlapped and implicated each other. With various new studies on the etiology and treatment of sexual dysfunction, integrated sex therapy should be composed of three aspects as psycoanalytic psycotherapy, behavioral therapy and biological treatment. The author reviewed the latest knowledge and concept of integrated sex therapy as the important basic treatment modality of sexual dysfunction, and discussed the future of it in Korea.
